IT support FAQ
Answers to the questions we hear most from clients and from people checking us out for the first time. Do not see yours here? Get in touch.
What does Galis Technology do?
We look after the technology for small and mid-sized businesses, nonprofits and churches across the Kansas City area: computers, servers, networks, Microsoft 365, backups and security. Most work is done remotely, and we come out when a job needs hands on it. We have been doing this since 2010.
What are your support hours?
The help desk is staffed Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central. Outside those hours, leave your details and a technician follows up the next business morning. If something is down, say so and it goes to the on-call engineer.
How do I get help or open a ticket?
Four ways, and they all arrive in the same place: call 816-800-9867 and press 1 for the help desk, email itsupport@gtnc.net, use the chat button in the corner of this site, or sign in to the client portal. You do not need to do more than one.
How quickly will someone respond?
If a system is down or there is a security problem, we respond within one hour. Major issues affecting several people are four hours. A single-user issue is the next business day, and a general question is two business days. These are response times, meaning when we acknowledge and begin, not how long a fix takes. They are written into the client agreement, which also carries a service credit if we miss them.
Do you work with nonprofits and churches?
Yes, and a large share of the organizations we look after are nonprofits. Many qualify for heavily discounted Microsoft licensing, which we set up and manage as part of the service.
What areas do you serve?
We are based in Kansas City, Missouri and work throughout the metro on both sides of the state line. Remote support reaches clients anywhere in the United States.
I got a suspicious email. What should I do?
Do not click anything and do not reply. Forward it to itsupport@gtnc.net or use the report button in Outlook, and we will look at it. If you already clicked a link or entered a password, call us right away. Nobody is ever in trouble for asking.
How does a technician fix my computer remotely?
Once a technician is working your ticket they will send you a link or walk you through starting the session, and you start it from your end. You watch the whole thing on your screen and you can end it at any time. Nobody can connect without you starting the session first, so if you ever get a call or a message asking you to let someone in, and you did not open a ticket, that is not us. Hang up and call us on 816-800-9867.
Are you taking on new clients?
Yes. Tell us a little about your organization and we will arrange a conversation about what you need.
How much does it cost?
It depends on how many people you have and what you need looked after, so we quote after a short conversation rather than from a price list. Get in touch and we will walk you through the options.
